RMS Monday Message

It is hard to believe, but we have hit the halfway point of the 2023-2024 School Year! Quarter 2 ended this past Friday and Report Cards are planned to be sent home soon. As always, you can check your students progress on the Parent Portal/PowerSchool 24/7.

A reminder to families who drop off their students in the morning: the 6th grade bell for 1st Period rings at 8:10am and the 7th/8th grade bell for 1st Period rings at 8:14am. Doors to the school open for breakfast at 7:45am and then again at 8am for all drop off students. Thank you for planning accordingly in your busy mornings to get your student to school on time.

The Beacon Players have created a Younger Company for grades 5-8, and their first ever production, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown is set to debut Feb 9th and 10th at BHS and features many Rombout students! Admission is $10 and kids 6 and under are FREE.

The Harlem Wizards are coming on Friday February 16th! Join us as we cheer Mr Soltish, Ms. Modica, Ms. Oriani, Mr. Alzate, Ms Alzate, and Ms. Briehof, Dr. Landhal, and many other BCSD staff as they play against the Wizards in a crazy basketball game filled with silly antics and trick hoops. This is a fundraising event for RMS PTO, BHS PTSO, and the National Honor Society and directly benefits the students of RMS. We need volunteers for the event to run smoothly and donations for our concession stand. Please check out our Wizards Game sign up list here.

Mark your calendar, Friday, March 8th is the Thomaselli Tough Roller Derby at RMS. The Mid Hudson Misfits Roller Derby will be holding a benefit derby to support Mrs. Thomaselli, an RMS teacher, and her family as they navigate their way through a devastating cancer diagnosis. More information will be coming out soon on how to buy tickets and volunteer for this event. We would love to hold a raffle on game night. If you are interested in donating a gift basket or other item for us to raffle please contact us at romboutpto@mail.com.

Our next PTO meeting will be on Thursday 2/8 at 7pm in the RMS library or by zoom using this link (passcode if needed is 063179). We would love to see you there as we discuss future events like the Honors Tea, Ice Cream Treat, 8th Grade Parent Committee, Staff Appreciation, and fundraisers like our 2nd Annual RMS Flea Market & Yard Sale. Bring your questions, concerns and ideas to share with us and RMS staff. We can't wait to see you!
