November 2023

A Short Note from Mrs. Stroud:

We are seeing and feeling the effects of fall! Hopefully all of you enjoyed some extra time this past weekend with your family. The staff was ready for a day off on Friday after meeting late on two nights for Parent Teacher Conferences. As you know, our goal is always to have 100% of our families attend conferences. Thanks to all of you, we are currently at 93% and hope to make up those that were missed. We appreciate the time you take to hear about your child's strengths and areas on which we are working. Thank you to the teachers and other staff members for making this a successful event.

Be sure to check out all of the important dates on our calendar this month. We hope to see many of you supporting our Archie Football Team in the upcoming weeks. Let's show our Whirlwind Pride.

Thank You!

Thank you to the Archie PTO for providing dinner for the PreK-12th grade staff members during Parent Teacher Conferences! Thank you to the families that donated items and joined PTO to help make this possible.

Thank you to the Major Saver fundraising participants and purchasers. This fundraiser brought in $3,854.25. Classroom teachers, parents, our administrative assistant and students all played a role in this event!

Red Barn Ranch Field Trip

Our three preschool classes went to the Red Barn Ranch for their fall field trip. Thank you to Mrs. Short, Mrs. Kara, Mrs. Sharlene, and Mrs. Kristi P. for making this a fun day for our little ones!

You Matter Archie

The You Matter Archie team greeted students and staff this month with delicious kettle corn from a local vendor. Thank you for making our day!

District Champions

Congratulations to our Lady Whirlwinds! This team won the District Championship for the first time in thirteen years! We are proud of our Whirlwinds!

David's Cupboard Ministry

We collected food items at Senior Night for volleyball and football. Over $600 will be donated to the pantry from the entry fees collected. Thank you to all participants and Whirlwind supporters!

Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers is for families in the prenatal stage to kindergarten entry. We have three amazing Parent Educators excited to meet you! Call (816)293-5312 x.322 or email one of the educators below.

In October, families went to the local fire station for Archie Firehouse Night. Our little ones learned about all of the equipment and got to try a few things out. Our educators were able to meet with approximately 36 families for their personal visits.

This month's events include a Playdate on November 9th from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and an FREE Infant Massage Class on November 13th at 5:30 p.m. Contact a parent educator for more details!

New School Board Member

Congratulations to Andrea Stark! She was selected by the Archie R-V School District to fill the vacant seat on the board. We would like to thank Bradley Driver, Mark Houchen, and Laura Royster for being interviewed for this position as well.
