We will take class pictures on Monday, March 22nd! This is the Monday after Spring Break.

We will be following our social distancing measures including wearing masks during the set up for the picture. Once all students are in place on the risers and the photographer is ready, students will be allowed to remove their mask for the picture if they are comfortable doing so. As soon as the picture is taken, face coverings will be put back on. Students should only be without face coverings for about 30 seconds or less. These pictures are included in the yearbook.

For remote learners, Ms. Aline will give you a call to see if you are interested in bringing your child for the picture and to coordinate the time.

If you do NOT wish for your child to be in the picture, please email their teacher and Ms. Aline (aheine@burnetcisd.net) by Friday, March 12th, 2021.

Our photographer, Interstate, has provided the following information about ordering class photos.

• The Class Picture is an 8x10 and they are $13.00/each.
• Parents can order online or with the photographer at the camera with a Check, Money Order, or Cash.
• **Please include your child's NAME, CLASS/TEACHER, & GRADE on the memo of the check/money order or on an envelope with their cash payment.**

Spring Picture Proofs and Ordering information was sent home this week. There is a typo about ordering by March 5th. Please disregard and order by March 26th.

Play It Safe is a child safety program that educates children how to identify and prevent abuse and empowers children in grades K-5 to practice safe behavior. This program also offers resources to help parents, caregivers and teachers protect children by teaching and practicing the 3-part rule of personal safety. Play It Safe was created by The Women’s Center of Tarrant County. This program has been presented to thousands of children in the Texas Hill Country since 2013. This information is presented through videos, workbook activities and classroom discussion.

Information was sent home on Friday, March 12th. If you would like your child to OPT OUT of the presentation, please return the OPT OUT form by Thursday, March 25th.

BMS and BHS Interact Clubs are doing our annual Soles for Souls shoe drive now through March 26. As you're doing spring cleaning next week, please collect any shoes that you don't need. We can accept shoes in any condition, size, type, etc. They are sent to an organization that uses parts from the old shoes to make new shoes.

Mrs. Reid is collecting them for Bertram and will take them to Burnet on Friday.

Bertram Elementary is proud to announce Aline Heine as our Educational Assistant of the Year. If you have spent any time at Bertram Elementary, you probably know the special and important role and Ms. Aline has on our campus. Ms. Aline is the friendly voice that parents hear when they call Bertram Elementary and the first face greets visitors to our school. Ms. Aline is always there ready to help in any way she can. She greets students at the front doors every morning and sends them off in the car line every afternoon. Each day Ms. Aline tends to the needs of the campus both big and small. She ensures that students have all that they need to learn, that teachers and staff have all that they need to be able to teach, and that parents know Bertram Elementary will always take care of their children. We are so grateful and blessed that Aline Heine is a Bertram Bulldog!

Please email changes to your child's transportation mode to

ber-transportation@burnetcisd.net by 1:30pm the day of the change. This will ensure that your child receives a transportation change note in their classroom from the office. For student safety, dismissal is coordinated by the office.

Unfortunately, voicemails with the office or the teacher may not be received in time to ensure that your child is dismissed correctly. We appreciate your help!

If your family is interested in changing your student from in-person learning to remote learning, please call the office. We are glad to help. Students engaging in remote learning are expected to maintain attendance standards and passing grades.

If you are learning remotely and would like your child to move back to in-person learning, please call the office one week before you would like your child to return to school. This allows teachers time to adjust furniture and set up dividers if needed.

1. Complete AT HOME self screening before getting on the bus or coming to school.
2. Face coverings for all bus riders, and students in grades 1st-5th. Face coverings are strongly encouraged for PreK and Kinder. Remember wearing a face mask reduces your child's chance of having to quarantine for close contact.
3. Bring your backpack including water bottle, snack, and lunchbox (if bringing lunch).

1. Visits to the school are by appointment. We will attempt to address situations by phone or Google Meet. In-person appointments can be scheduled if the situation requires. When visiting campus, please be prepared to show a valid photo ID.

2. If you do visit the school, face coverings are required for all adults at all times. This includes the office foyer area.

3. Due to COVID-19, we will not have any on campus volunteers at this time.

4. We are not accepting deliveries including forgotten lunches (hot meal will be provided by the cafeteria), birthday treats, and food orders.

5. If you need to make an occasional change to your child's transportation home, please use the Bertram Transportation Change email: ber-transportation@burnetcisd.net . Transportation changes must be emailed in no later than 1:30pm. Teachers will not be able to accept transportation changes.
   

6. Be familiar with the Arrival & Dismissal Map.
