Athletics
Varsity Girls Track
This past week the Varsity Girl's Track team was hard at work! With four school records broken and more to come, the team is preparing for an awesome end to the season. On Friday, May 12th, there are many high achievements. For example, In the 200 meter dash, Delaney Wolle ran a personal best clocking in at 28.55 seconds. In the 400 meter dash, Olivia Stickler won, with a time of 1:01. 31. Up next is the 800 meter dash, in that Audrey Napolitano ran a personal best of 2:49.98. In the 3200 meter run, Cara Prusakiewicz ran 13:24, Audrey Napolitano ran 14:05, and Lily Finnigan clocked in at 14:08. In the 100 meter hurdles, Sophia Peter broke the school record with a time of 17:26! In the 4 by 100 meter dash, Caila Fitchett, Olivia Stickler, Sophia Peter, and Delaney Wolle broke the school record with a time of 52.26. In Shot put, Senior Adeline Tresnak threw the new school record measuring 33 feet and 1 inch! In discus, Ava DeVlaminck threw 80 feet and 11 inches to complete the day. Lastly, Adeline Tresnak jumped 4 foot, 8 inches in high jump on Friday's meet. Good luck at leagues and regionals girls!
Varsity Softball
The Dryden girls played at Carsonville - Port Sanilac on Monday, May 8. In the first game, the girls lost in the bottom of the 6th by a score of 18-17. The losing pitcher with 2 innings pitched was Rilynn Lindsay. She had 3 strikeouts and gave up 0 hits, 8 walks, and 10 runs. Addie Tresnak had pitched 4 innings. She had 8 strikeouts, gave up 4 hits, 10 walks, and 8 runs. Rilynn Lindsay hit for the cycle plus a single and had 5 RBIs. Addie Tresnak, Mallory Barker, Brianna Snavely, and Arianna LaValla each had a single. Also, Jade Insley had a single, a SAC, and 2 RBIs. Lola Abromaitis had a SAC and a single. Brianna Snavely, Lola Abromaitis, Mecredes West, and Addie Tresnak were on the defensive.
In the second game, the Dryden girls got their first win of the season with 15-5 in the bottom of the 4th. Lola Abromaitis was the winning pitcher with 4 innings pitched. She also had 1 strikeout and gave up 4 hits, 5 walks, and 5 runs. Lola Abromaitis had 2 singles, 2 RBIs, and a SAC. Rilynn Lindsay had a triple and 1 RBI. Jade Insley had a SAC and an RBI. Addie Tresnak and Mallory Barker each had a single and 2 RBIs. Brianna Snavely had a single. Defensive plays were created by Lola Abromaitis, Mallory Barker, Rilynn Lindsay, Addie Tresnak, Brianna Snavely, Lola Abromaitis, Mallory Barker, and Rilynn Lindsay.
On Thursday, May 11, Dryden faced North Huron. Dryden lost 11-0 in the first game. Addie Tresnak pitched 4 innings and gave up 7 hits and 11 runs. She had 4 strikeouts and didn't walk a batter. Defensive plays were made by Jade Insley, Rilynn Lindsay, Addie Tresnak, Lola Abromaitis, Brianna Snavely, and Madison Maday.
North Huron also won the second game by a score of 11-1. Lola Abromaitis pitched 5 innings and gave up 10 hits, 6 walks, and 11 runs. Addie Tresnak and Mercedes West each had a single. Adding to the defensive side of the game were Addie Tresnak, Mercedes West, Mallory Barker, Karlie Harris, Madison Maday, and Lola Abromaitis.
Junior High Track
On May 8, the Dryden Junior High Girls Track Team finished 3rd at the Brown City 5 Team Meet. The Boys team finished 5th.
Claire Wright finished 1st in the 3200 1st place with a PR of 15:18.04 even though she lost a shoe and finished the last 2 laps with only one shoe! The girls 4x100 team of Claire Wright, Makayla Mater, Maddie Gammon, and Bella Blatt and the girls 4x400 team of Makayla Mater, Abby Tonkoshkur, Maddie Gammon, and Claire Wright finished 1st as well.
Levi Fitchett accomplished two 1st place finishes in the 3200 and the long jump (13 ft 6 in - PR). Josh Adams had a PR shot put throw of 26 feet and a 70-meter dash finish of 11.99. Finishing out the highlights was Tyler Roberts with a 3rd place time of 38.75 in the 200m hurdles.
At the Dryden Quad on May 10, both girls and boys got 6th place.
The 4x100 relay girls hit a PR and got under a minute on their relay. They have been trying to do that all season long. Claire Wright, MaKayla Mater, Maddie Gammon, and Bella Blatt had a time of 57 seconds.
Varsity Girls Soccer

Varsity Girls Soccer:
On Monday, May 8th, the Dryden/ Imlay City Girls Soccer team played at Algonac High School. Dryden/ Imlay City lost to Algonac, 8-4. Jessica Peters scored four goals. Kierstyn Stankevich and Caila Fitchett each had one assist.
On Wednesday, May 10th, the Dryden/ Imlay City Girls Soccer team played against Richmond High School. Dryden/ Imlay City lost to Richmond, 0-7.
Great job, girls!
The next Dryden/ Imlay City Girls Soccer Game is on Monday, May 15th, against Almont High School at Imlay City High School. Good luck!
Dryden Basketball Skills Camp
Dryden Basketball will be hosting Steve Cramer Basketball Clinics on June 16th
. “We are thrilled to have
Steve back,” said Dryden varsity coach John DelCampo. “He has done clinics here in the past and the
players had a tremendous experience.”
Steve Cramer is a former overseas pro and college athlete. He has coached at the high school and junior
high level in the U.S. and in Germany. He trains thousands of athletes each year from throughout the
country. He is known for his intensity and detailed instruction. “The players in the past have really
benefited from the clinics,” said DelCampo
The clinics are for both boys and girls and are held at Dryden High School. There are two sessions -
Session 1 is for players entering grades 9 through 12. This clinic will focus on offensive skills. It is from 9
am to 12 pm. The cost is $25 for Dryden students and $30 for non-Dryden students.
Session 2 is for players entering grades 5 through 8. This clinic is an overall skills clinic. It runs from 1-
3pm. It is $15 for Dryden students and $20 for non-Dryden students.
“His intensity at his clinics is amazing. He really relates to the players,” said DelCampo.
Forms are available at Dryden High School and Dryden Elementary School. They can also be obtained by
emailing Coach DelCampo at coachdelcampo@aol.com.
There are a limited number of spots available. Everyone is encouraged to enroll as soon as possible.
