Mr. Posick's weekly email

As the background picture depicts, there can be quite a lot of hustle and bustle during this upcoming Thanksgiving break. Don't forget the reason for the holiday- to give thanks for those things that make our life so great. I am thankful for my family, my friends, our students and staff, and the supportive families that help make Merton such a great place to learn from and with each other. May you find time to relax and spend time with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks to the leadership of Miss Koch and Mrs. Iwanski, our 6th-8th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in forensics. There is a parent meeting on Tuesday, December 1st at 5:30 if you'd like to learn more. There is also information in the form of a pdf included in the email containing this week's smore.

Don't forget that there were only 2 days of school this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. We will not be having Practice with Mr. Posick (Homework Club) after school today. Practice will resume on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning with Tuesday, December 1st at its normal 4:15-5:15 time slot.

Before Thanksgiving, we had a food drive to support those in need in the Merton community. Thanks to your generosity, and the work of the Play60 team and Mr. Pomeroy, we were able to provide food for 50 families, including funds for 23 turkeys! If you look at the pictures above, you will see the Giving Tree, a yearly effort to bring a happy holiday season to families in our community. Please consider having your child take a gift request from the tree. Thanks!
