The testing window for Gifted and Talented program is open!

Kindergarten -Students will be referred based on their performance on the middle of the year STAR Renaissance Reading/Math assessments. Students identified from Star Renaissance or referral will take the NNAT3: (Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test 3rd Edition) to determine GT eligibility. All parents will be notified in writing of their child’s scores and placement decision.

1st Grade -All 1st grade students will take the CogAt (Cognitive Abilities Test) as a universal screener. Students who meet a certain score will qualify for GT services. All parents will be notified in writing of their child’s scores and placement decision.

2nd-5th Grades -Students will be referred based on their performance on the middle of the year STAR Renaissance Reading/Math assessments. Students identified from Star Renaissance or referral will take the CogAt (Cognitive Abilities Test) to determine GT eligibility. All parents will be notified in writing of their child’s scores and placement decision.

Students currently served in GT will continue their services and will not have to be retested.

Nomination is still an option per the state plan, but no longer the primary part of the process. If your student does not meet the criteria for testing based on their Star Renaissance scores, you may still request that they be tested for GT. Keep an eye out on social media and school communication regarding dates for testing!

If you have not already written your child's name in their winter gear, do so today with a sharpie. It helps us get items right back to your child when they are left behind. To claim an item from the photographs below:

• Include the child's name and homeroom teacher so we can return the item
