Important New Safety Addition for SES and SIS Bus Riders

From SISD Director of Transportation Todd Staley:

I hope everyone had a restful and joyous break. Hopefully it was filled with quality time spent with family and friends.

Starting this semester, we are issuing bus cards to all SES and SIS students. They will be attached to your child’s backpack this coming week. This will provide an extra layer of security and accountability for our Sunnyvale students. Each child will scan their card when they get on and off the bus.

What Will This Do for You, Our Parents? On your Parent App (see below for information), you will be able to see the exact time your Raider gets on and off the bus.

What Will This Do for SISD? We are able to have accurate ridership information (who rides our buses and how often). At any point in time, we will be able to see who is on the bus.

Please Note:

We are trying this out for the upcoming semester. If it works well, we will expand it to all levels next year. The first card is provided to each student. They will keep it until the end of the school year. At the end of the school year, we will collect all bus cards.
