Welcome to April!

Friday, April 12, 19, 26: 1:25 Dismissal for Teacher Professional Development
Spring Break!
All Hoquiam Schools will be closed beginning Monday, April 1 through Friday April 5 for Spring Break. School will resume at 8:25 on Monday April 8. When we return it will be time to gear up for state testing! Have a wonderful week off and we will see you bright and early at 8:25 on Monday, April 8!
Conference Week!
Thank you to all of our families for attending conferences the week before spring break! We loved the opportunity to partner with you in support of your students. If you weren't able to meet with your child's teacher, please reach out after spring break and our staff would be happy to work out a time to catch up and speak about your child's progress. You can call the school at 360-528-8230
Bear Fest!
Have you thought about joining our PTO?
The Hoquiam Parent Teacher Organization is always looking for new members to support our elementary programs. The next meeting is April 10 at 5:00 pm and hosted at Lincoln School. No prior involvement is necessary! Our PTO supports many of the fun activities we get to have here at Central! Thank you for your support of our PTO!
Attendance Matters!
When your students miss school they miss out! We miss them too! This year Central is focusing on school attendance. If your child is sick please keep them home, but don't forget to call the school at 360-538-8230 to excuse their absence. If your child has a dr. appointment, please bring a dr. note with them when they return to school. Absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence or it automatically becomes an unexcused absence.
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program!
Central continues to participate each afternoon in exposing your students to new and different fresh fruits and vegetables due to a federal grant through our food service. The kids love this late afternoon snack and have enjoyed eating all different types of fresh fruit and vegetables. Ask your student what their favorite one has been so far, or what the most unique one has been. It's a great talking point for asking about their day!
Some opportunities for Family Support!
Mental Health Matters!
The mental health of ALL of our students is important to us! The Hoquiam school district has partnered to provide a mental health resource for our students and it's free and easy to sign up! Follow this link https://www.hoquiam.net/page/gaggle for more information. Free mental health therapy sessions are available for all Hoquiam students!
