Welcome Back! I hope you and your family are well, safe and healthy. The 2022-2023 School Year promises to be filled with golden opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways to reconnect with our students and families, support as much as we can, and give 110% every day. As we embark on this journey, our pledge to you, our students and parents, is that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful, and rigorous work in our classrooms. Our motto for the 2022-2023 school year is ”Onward and Upward.”

As we get ready to start the 2022-2023 school year, I want to provide you with the most updated date details. Below is the essential information, as of today:

• All classes will be held in person at Arrowhead ES with a full day of learning.

• Masks are MANDATORY this school year for both students and staff members.

• Students will be transitioning from classroom to classroom.

• Breakfast will be provided each day free of charge for our students.

• Lunch will be held in the cafeteria, and lunch applications will be required to be completed to determine lunch eligibility.

• Uniforms are required for the 2022-2023 school year. Students wear navy blue pants, shorts, skirts, or jumpers and a white or light blue polo shirt or buttoned-down shirt.

• School supply lists are posted on our website - https://schools.pgcps.org/arrowhead/.

• School opens on Monday, August 29th. Bus routes will be available later in August.

Here are some important dates to remember:

• We welcome back our Arrowhead ES Staff on August 19th.

• Sneak-A-Peek is Thursday, August 25th, between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Meet your teacher in person, bring your school supplies, and celebrate the beginning of a new school year! Parents must attend with students as this is not a drop-off event.

• Pre-Kindergarten Orientation is Friday, August 26th at 10:00 am (in-person). Parents must attend with students as this is not a drop-off event.

• Kindergarten Orientation is Friday, August 26th at 11:00 am (in-person). Parents must attend with students as this is not a drop-off event.

• We welcome all of our students on Monday, August 29th, for their first day of school.

• Back to School Night is Wednesday, September 7th starting at 6:00 pm for Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students.

• Back to School Night is Thursday, September 8th starting at 6:00 pm for 3rd through 5th-grade students.

Our door will open for the 2022-2023 school year for families on Thursday, August, 25th at 12:00 pm. Come on in and meet your teacher, drop off your school supplies, complete registration forms, complete the lunch application, and say hi to all of us! We have missed your smiling faces.

It is imperative each family (only one per family is needed) complete the online lunch application, even if you do not think you will qualify. Our schools funds are determined by using this process. Below is the link:

If there are any concerns or you need to contact a member of the Administration Team, please do so. Please note we do not usually take calls during the day as we are focused on the students and the instruction that is occurring in the classrooms.
