Dear Parents, Students, and Families,
As our second semester gets underway we are looking ahead to the 2023-2024 school year. Our recruitment has officially begun! This means we are giving tours, having students visit specific programs and applications are open.
Any student interested in returning to BRCOT or getting started in one of our programs for the 2023 - 2024 school year must apply by 3/1/2023. Scan the QR code below to access the application or visit our website.
As part of the application process, BRCOT applicants will participate in an interview with program instructors. Applicants will be contacted by instructors to schedule a brief interview. These interviews may be held in person, through video conferencing or via a telephone call. For our new programs, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality and Athletic Training/Sports Medicine interviews will be conducted by BRCOT staff including student services and administration.
Notifications of acceptance to BRCOT programs will begin in April.
If you need help with the application process and/or want more information or want to schedule a visit, reach out to your guidance counselor at your sending school or Ms. Scribner at BRCOT.

In addition to offering a range of career options and pathways, many of our programs give our students an advanced start in earning college credits. This saves students time and money! We do so in a few ways:
- With "Dual Enrollment," students can earn high school and college credits* through Maine Community Colleges. Those credits are transferable to most post-secondary schools.
- BRCOT has "Articulation Agreements" with various colleges and universities where a successful class at BRCOT will count for college credit at those specific post-secondary schools. If your post-secondary school has this agreement with BRCOT, you will not have to retake the classes you have already taken.
- Some students earn "Advanced Standing Program Credits." After completing a program and passing a university-approved proficiency exam, college credits* will be awarded.
*Please Note: BRCOT does not award college credits. Students receive an
academic transcript from the post-secondary institution with whom there is dual enrollment/Advanced Standing Program Credits.
If you have a child or know of someone who may be interested in learning by doing, they can apply now by clicking here or below.
Best regards,
Paulette Bonneau
Director

COT Receives $10K Donation from Deering Lumber
Thank you to Deering Lumber for their generous donation of $10,000 to the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT). The funds, raised through Deering Lumber’s 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament last Fall, were designated to support the building trades program. The tournament also secured enough funding to provide $10,000 to the Sanford Regional Technical Center for a total contribution of $20,000.
“One of the most overlooked benefits of learning a trade is the emphasis on in-demand careers,” said Paulette Bonneau, Director of the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology. “We prepare graduates to enter some of the best and most reliable careers available. These include essential high-paying careers and fast-growing technical roles. In fact, if students take early steps to discover their passions and pursue classes of interest to them, they will likely have more success in high school and find a job in their field of interest.”
Deering Lumber’s Purchasing Manager and one of the organizers of the charity golf event Dave Chapais, added, “Proceeds benefited two innovative building trades programs, both of which are developing the next generation of contractors and construction professionals in our area. It’s a win-win for everyone in our communities that these teens have the resources they need to get a great education and prepare for their future careers.”
On behalf of all the BRCOT students and staff, we are grateful to Deering Lumber’s customers, vendor partners, and associates who made this donation possible.
