Principal's Message

Principal Coffee - November 1

Parents are invited to attend our first Principal Coffee of the school year, Friday, November 1, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in our school library. Come share a cup of coffee and learn more about Mabel Rush.


Attendance Line

When your child is going to be absent please call the school to let us know. You can call our attendance line at 503-554-4496 to leave a message.


Wednesday Late Openings

A reminder that each Wednesday is a late opening. Buses run one hour later, and school begins one hour later each Wednesday.


Parent Contact Information

We utilize a system called Blackboard to facilitate phone calls, emails, and text messages to our families. It is important that we have your current contact information on file. If you find that your address, phone number, or email have changed, please be sure to contact the school office at 503-544-4450

Veterans Day Assembly

On November 8th at 10:00 AM our school will be having an assembly to honor our Veterans. We especially wish to honor the Veterans in your families! In order to do this you can share a picture and story with Mrs. McKennon to include in our slide show. We also would love to have your family Veterans come and be honored at the assembly so please invite them to come.

Hats, Coats, and Gloves Please

With the recent return of colder weather, we want to remind families that students should dress for the daily weather conditions. Students have outside recess every day. Only when the temperatures are extremely cold or when the rain blows sideways do students stay inside.

18th ANNUAL CANDY BUY-BACK Earns $$ for our school!

Mabel Rush is participating in Wilson Orthodontics Candy Buy-Back

$1 per pound of Halloween Candy, plus $100 bonus if 50+ pounds are collected.
Drop you candy in the Collection Bin outside the school office by Nov. 8th.
For the Top 2 Schools with the most candy collected:
1ST PRIZE - $500 plus $1 per pound

2nd PRIZE - $300 plus $1 per pound

Oregon vs Oregon State Canned Food Drive - November 18 - 22

Are you a Beaver or a Duck? Only in Oregon do we ask that question! In honor of the OSU vs U of O Civil War football game, we invite you to vote for your favorite Oregon team through a canned food drive. Bring your canned food during the week or November 18th - 22nd and place your non-perishable donation on your team’s side of the lobby. Food will be donated to FISH for holiday baskets. Students, staff and visitors are invited to dress as a Duck fan or a Beaver fan on Friday, November 22nd.
