From the Hawk Nest

On Monday we’ll wear our pajamas and Tuesday is crazy hair day. On Wednesday we will show support for our favorite sports team and Thursday will finish up the school week with Brandon School Spirit Day. We’ll wrap up the week on Friday by participating in the Brandon Homecoming Parade.

Harvey Swanson’s conference days are Monday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 12, from 4:30-8:15 both days. If you forgot your day or time, please contact your child's teacher so you can connect!

The library has transformed into the Scholastic Book Fair! This is a fabulous time to have a variety of books brought to you with incredible prices. The book fair will be open during the school day on October 11, 13, and 18 along with conference evenings from 4:30-8:00.

Our annual Red Cross blood drive will be hosted in the Harvey Swanson Cafeteria on Wednesday, October 12 from 2:00-8:00pm. Please consider helping others in need through your lifesaving donation. As a special offer, students who recruit one presenting donor will receive a Red Cross flashlight while supplies last!

Did you know Harvey Swanson Elementary is a Title 1 school? This means that we receive money from the federal government to use for instructional purposes with our students.

Harvey Swanson is a school-wide Title 1 school which means that we are able to use

materials and services purchased with Title 1 money to benefit all of our students.

At the October H.E.L.P. meeting on the 20th, at 4 p.m. I will share details about our Title

1 status and how we use those funds at Harvey Swanson. Please plan to attend the H.E.L.P.

meeting in the Harvey Swanson library to hear this important information.

There is nothing like a handmade art project. On October 17, you will receive a custom catalog including your child's artwork to select and purchase keepsakes from. The orders will be due on October 31. The products will be ready for delivery back to you by November 18 just in time for the holidays.
