My Name is Katherine Eberline and I am the Children’s Services Coordinator for the Brookings Public Library. My husband and I moved to South Dakota 18 years ago for my job at the library. Before moving here from Florida, I had only seen snow twice, and my husband explained many of the challenges of winter.
Four years ago, we were lucky enough to adopt our two sons. It has been quite an adventure, they were 11 and 16 when we adopted them after they had been in foster care for over ten years. So, the last few years have been a crash course in parenting and family. I am also a big Disney person, so we made sure the first two places we took the boys were the Black hills (to celebrate their new home) and Disney World (to celebrate mom’s favorite place).
