New Strategic Planning Survey: BSD's Vision, Mission Statement, and Core Values
The Brunswick School Department is developing a strategic plan to help guide it over the next several years. During this process, a strategic planning committee consisting of individuals from multiple community groups (i.e., students, parents, community members, school staff, and district staff) have provided input to help district leaders create the plan for the district.
In order to be inclusive and transparent about the process of building a strategic plan, the BSD would like your feedback about the drafted strategic plan components. Click the link below to take this new survey in regards to our vision, mission statement, and core values. Thank you for your participation.

Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey Results
The MIYHS is administered among Maine students biannually on odd-numbered years. The below document will focus on results between 2015 and 2021. The results in the document come from Brunswick middle and high school data whenever possible. For data not available at the school-level, results for the Southern Midcoast Communities for Prevention service area are reported.
Brunswick School Board Resolution: Secure Gun Storage at Home
Safety is the highest priority of the Brunswick School Department. This resolution is focused on gun violence prevention through the leadership of the district, information sharing, empowerment, and education of our school community.
The Brunswick School Department is aware that an estimated 4.6 million American children live in households with at least one loaded, unlocked firearm and that each year nearly 350 children under that age of 18 unintentionally shoot themselves or someone else. Another 1200 children and teens die by gun suicide each year, most often using guns belonging to a family member. In Maine, an average of 137 people die by gun suicide every year.

Cooking with Culture: A Culinary Celebration of Brunswick's Diversity
Brunswick’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Committee is excited to invite community members to share their culturally significant recipes for the purpose of celebrating our community’s diversity through food. We appreciate the myriad of traditions, cultures, and diverse lived experiences present in Brunswick’s population and seek to build a collective understanding of the cultural traditions in our community through this fun and engaging opportunity!
We hope to compile these recipes into a digital format and, later, a Community Cookbook.

Help Alleviate School Nutrition Debt
Please DONATE
The Brunswick School Department is looking to alleviate school nutrition debt for families in our community. Prior to the pandemic, families in the Brunswick community had accumulated $7,000 in debt from unpaid lunch bills. We would like to relieve the stress from those families and take care of the payment for them. This is where we need your help! We're looking to not only fundraise for the $7,000 owed to the school nutrition program, but we would like to keep the fundraising going and provide cold milk for all students throughout the remainder of the school year.
The Maine Department of Education has funded free school lunches to all students throughout the 2022-2023 school year. However, what is not funded is cold milk for those students that choose to bring their lunches from home. We would like to have cold milk equally accessible to all students, and with your support, we could make this a reality for the Brunswick community.
If interested in donating, please scan the QR code or visit https://givebutter.com/foodservicerelief
Every little bit helps and goes directly to help families in our community.
We appreciate your support.
With Gratitude,
Brunswick School Department
Thank you to those that have already donated! We've raised
just over $2,500 to help school nutrition debt.
