The Marshfield Road Runners Youth Track Club, Marshfield Boys and Girls Club, Marshfield Districtwide PTO and Furnace Brook Middle School XC/Track & Field are excited to announce the that the 6th Annual Marshfield Elementary School Invitational will take place Wednesday, April 26th at the Marshfield Boys and Girls Club (37 Proprietor's Drive, Marshfield) with check-in beginning at 3:00 PM. Kindergarten registration for the next school year is now open. Parents have the option to register online or in person. Please be sure to complete your child’s registration no later than Friday, March 17, 2023.

Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years old by August 31, 2023.

A healthy eating pattern includes: A variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fat-free and low-fat dairy products, a variety of protein foods and oils. Eating a healthy breakfast is associated with improved cognitive function (especially memory), reduced absenteeism, and improved mood. Adequate hydration may also improve cognitive function in children and adolescents, which is important for learning. The benefits of healthy eating reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, iron deficiency and dental caries(cavities).

Illnesses: If you are keeping your child home for more than a day or 2 due to illness- please contact Nurse White, especially if the illness is something that is of a contagious nature(Influenza, strep, covid, pink eye, stomach bug, hand foot and mouth, etc.). Please remember that if your child has been out sick they can return to school once they have been without fever, vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and when their overall symptoms have improved.

If your child has an illness or injury that results in an absence for 5 or more days- a doctor’s note must be sent in upon returning to class with any restrictions and appropriate dates.
