The Wahooz Fit for Fun program is designed to add fun to fitness, and to reward students for setting a goal and achieving it. Galileo grades K-6 students can print out the Fit for Fun Student Fitness Log found below and turn it in to Mr. Fulwood by December 2, 2022, to receive a free Wahooz 4-Hour Ultimate Unlimited ticket. This ticket includes Ropes Course, Ballocity, Clip ‘n Climb, Twister, Frog Hopper, Bumper Cars, XD Dark Ride, Laser Maze, Laser Tag, Go-karts, Mini Golf, Bumper Boats (when open), Bowling and $5 Game Card ($39.99 Value!)

We are excited to bring back our Galileo GIVE WEEK PTA fundraiser this year!

What is GIVE week?

Instead of volunteer-intensive fundraisers that ask our kids to get sponsors or sell products that give just a fraction of the profits, we are asking each family to make a meaningful donation, whatever that means to you. 100% of the money goes directly to support our school! If we reach this goal, this will be our one and only fundraiser this year. Our fundraising goal for this year is $35,000.

Volunteering with the PTA

The PTA welcomes anyone interested in volunteering at the school. If you would like to be more involved, please click HERE and sign up to volunteer.

Staff Appreciation

Every month the PTA organizes an event to show the teachers and staff our support and how much we appreciate them. We rely on the parent involvement for these events. If you are a busy parent who has been looking for a quick and easy way to help out at school, this is it!

For October, we will be doing two days of events to support the staff during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 19th and Thursday, October 20th.

Please help us be good neighbors by respecting neighbors' driveways and access as you park near Galileo. Also, please don't park and leave your car unattended in a line that is moving. If you need to leave your car unattended, use one of the parking spots in the main parking lot.

Please remember that Galileo is a closed campus from 8:30-4:30. This includes the walking path and playground areas. Visitors who haven't checked into the office will be asked to check in or to leave campus.

The Galileo STEM Academy Amateur Radio Club will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month beginning on October 13th from 4 PM to 5 PM for those who turned in their registration form.

Idaho Battle of the Books will be available for middle school students at Galileo this year!

Idaho Battle of the Books, or IBOB, is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program for middle grade students from grades 6-9. IBOB is meant to expose students to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints. The mission of the program is to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, share the love of reading with students who have not yet discovered that for themselves, broaden reading interests, increase reading comprehension, promote academic excellence, and promote cooperative learning and teamwork among students.

Sixteen books are chosen each year, and questions are written. Students read the books, discuss them, and then compete in teams of four students to correctly answer questions based on the books in a "quiz show" format.

If your student wishes to participate, please have them see Mrs. Murphy in the library. A permission slip signed by the student and a parent/guardian is required.

The City of Eagle is excited to hold a Christmas Card Design Contest to select Eagle’s official Christmas Card design for 2022. All children enrolled in an elementary school in Eagle, or children who are of elementary school age and live in Eagle are eligible to participate. The winner will receive a $100 gift card to Fred Meyer. Entries must be received (electronically or digitally) with the following form by Friday October 21st and the winner will be announced by November 8th. Please click HERE for more information.

An informational meeting for parents and students interested in science camp will be held at 8:15 on Monday, Oct. 17. Camp dates are June 19-23. Open to students PRESENTLY in grades 5-8. For more information please email sonersen.elisabeth@westada.org

Galileo is proud to once again have the opportunity to honor the veterans and current active duty military family members during an in-person assembly on Friday, November 11th. The school-wide assembly will start at 2:30 p.m. in the school gym. We will have reserved seating, but it is limited, so we ask that only veterans and their family members attend. The Galileo PTA will be hosting a reception for our veterans and active-duty military and their Galileo students immediately after school in the cafeteria. More details and an RSVP form will be sent out at a later date!
