It is summer at DES and we are still working and celebrating our students and staff! We have staff, student, and school celebrations to share with our community.
$4,000 Math Grant~written and submitted by Mrs. Edmonds and Ms. Mimms
$2,978 Science Grant~written and submitted by Mrs. Edmonds and Mr. Hughes
$1,944 Social Studies Grant~written and submitted by Mrs. Edmonds and Ms. O'Connor
5th Grade Teacher Ms. Cohn is enjoying her time at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Ms. Cohn was selected to attend the STEAM in the Park Program. Each camp includes a look at a Global Challenge that the park faces. Ms. Cohn will connect, collaborate, and create content to share with our students, school, and community. Last week Ms. Cohn walked across the 3rd highest bridge in our hemisphere and the 13th highest bridge in the world! We can't wait to heat more about Ms. Cohn's excursion.
Ms. O'Connor will present on the following:
- Asian-American History IS American History: Chinese Immigrants and the Transcontinental Railroad
- Using Historical Stories to Teach Students to Evaluate Media Messages
- Grade K - Avyansh Nanda, Title of Work~Penny and Pingo on Vacation
- Grade 1 - Avikam Mathur, Title of Work~The Wood Cutters Life!

Annual Registration for Returning Students: 2023-2024 School Year
Registration for returning students is open. This is a required task for all parents whose child is returning to Dunwoody Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. Annual registration must be complete prior to Open House on Wednesday, August 2nd.
All returning students who will attend Dunwoody Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year MUST complete annual registration though Infinite Campus Parent Portal. You can complete the process either from a computer or through the Infinite Campus app on your phone.

To complete this process you will need:
1. Government issued ID - driver's license or passport for one parent/guardian
2. Proof of Residency - current utility bill from either power, water, or gas company only OR mortgage/lease agreement

If you are a new student registering at Dunwoody Elementary School, please complete the new student registration. All new students must be FULLY REGISTERED BY JULY 31st.

- Parents/guardians who do not already have a portal account should send an email to Mrs. Kirtdoll at Kenisha_Kirtdoll@dekalbschoolsga.org, The email must include a copy of your photo identification. Upon receipt of your email, an access code along with directions will be sent via email within 24 to 48 hours (about 2 business days).
