Welcome Back Salem Elementary
Every Student Future Ready
Salem Junior General Monthly Newsletter- September 2023
I hope that this message finds you well and filled with excitement as we embark on a brand-new school year together. My name is Mrs. Record, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Salem's elementary school. It is an honor to be a part of this amazing community and to have the privilege of leading our students on a journey of growth, discovery, and achievement.
As we gear up for an eventful year ahead, I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest welcome to all of our students and families, both returning and new. Each school year brings with it the promise of fresh opportunities, new friendships, and the chance to make wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
My foremost commitment is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that nurtures the potential of every student. With your partnership, we can truly make a difference in the lives of each student. Together we can empower them to not only excel academically but also develop valuable life skills, cultivate a sense of community, and grow into well-rounded individuals.
Monthly Newsletter: Stay Informed, Stay Connected
To ensure you are well-informed about the happenings at school, I will be sharing a monthly newsletter. This newsletter will serve as a window into our school's activities, achievements, upcoming events, and important announcements. It's designed to provide insights into your child's educational journey.
You can find a new newsletter each month posted on our elementary website. Understanding that internet challenges still exist in our area, the newsletter will also go home with students during the school year. I encourage you to read it, share your feedback, and actively participate in the events and initiatives that we will be hosting throughout the school year.
Together, We Achieve Greatness
It is with great excitement that I anticipate the wonderful experiences and achievements that await our students this year. Remember, your involvement is vital to your child's success, and your encouragement and support make a world of difference. I look forward to meeting each of you in person and fostering a strong partnership that will enable us to create a vibrant and thriving educational community.
Please feel free to reach out to me at crecord@salemcsd.org if you have questions, suggestions, or simply want to introduce yourself. Let's embark on this journey together, united in our mission to provide the best possible educational experience for all of our students.
Warm regards,
Cheryl Record

🕒 School Start Time:
The elementary school doors open at 7:50 a.m. Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. We want to ensure that everyone has a smooth start to their day.
🚗 Parent Drop-Off:
For parent drop-off, please use the designated area in front of the school. Students and their families should not be walking between our parked buses.
🚌 Bus Arrival:
All buses will drop off students in the archway. This will help streamline the arrival process and keep everything organized.
🍽️ Breakfast Options:
Hungry for breakfast? It's free for all students. PreK-2 students can grab a breakfast bag from the cart that will be located inside the primary building each school day. Grade 3-6 students will grab a breakfast bag in the cafeteria. Students will eat breakfast in their classroom. Breakfast is a great way to fuel up before starting the day!
⏰ Tardiness Policy:
Punctuality is important. Students who enter the building after 8:00 a.m. will be considered tardy. Let's all work together to ensure everyone gets the most out of their learning time.
We're looking forward to a fantastic school year ahead filled with growth, learning, and exciting experiences. If you have any questions or need further information, don't hesitate to reach out to our school office.
See you at 7:50 a.m. for a great start to the day!
