Ideas to support the effective use of Challenge in lessons
Overview
Stretch and challenge is a key area that Ofsted are focused upon. Therefore here are some supportive ideas, thoughts and opinions on various ways to include elements of challenge within lessons to help students go above and beyond their minimum expectations and push more towards their aspiration targets.
Extension Tasks
A task that can be used to support plenaries and can be ranked in order of difficulty.
Deeper Level Questioning
Consider these terms in questioning opportunities.

Helps to explore or judge something further
Top Tips
1. Consider the individual needs of the students within the classroom and their original starting points.
2. Make the opportunities to challenge students interesting and engaging! If students are to engage with these tasks they should not be seen as "extra Work".
3. Challenge can be done well through unplanned teaching opportunities, they do not necessarily need to take time to create and plan extensively.
