4th Grade Science with Mr. McIntosh
Looking Back –
Our study of Earth science and soils is important as a foundation for understanding how a healthy planet is important to all of us. Earth is always changing – some changes slower than others – but all of them affect us and our activities in our daily lives. Next up after our break – a deeper look at the various forces that change our planet.
Looking Ahead –
Water has been the focus of our study of erosion and deposition so far. There are other natural forces at work that can create huge changes to our home, planet Earth. We will look deeply into two of these, wind and glaciers, and one is rapidly disappearing. Should we be concerned? We will be reviewing to get ready for the Unit 6 assessment as well.
Holiday Science – Explore the turkey's history as our bird of choice for Thanksgiving and other holiday meals. Find its scientific name and try to bring some turkey science trivia back to share with your class. In this video, find out what really makes you sleepy after your big holiday meal.Happy Thanksgiving!
