Valentine's Day is a great way to end a week dedicated to Random Acts of Kindness. I saw so many excited kids sharing with one another, that my heart is simply warm.

Monday, we have a holiday in observation of President's Day. I hope all families have a great long weekend to spend time with family, friends, and a good book.

All Day Pre-K

Conroe ISD will be expanding all current half-day prekindergarten programs to full day in the 2020-21 school year. Currently, Houser and Houston Elementary Schools are the only campuses to operate full-day prekindergarten programs. The expansion is in response to the House Bill 3 requirement that all prekindergarten programs operate as full-day programs. Registration for the 2020-21 school year will take place April 20-24. Eligibility determination and enrollment will take place at the elementary school to which the student is zoned. Please visit www.conroeisd.net/ci/early-childhood/ for more information.

Please tell friends and neighbors to be on the look out for the Early Childhood Fair on April 18, 2020 at Wilkinson Elementary. Parents can register their 4 year olds with district personnel, tour a typical PK class, and play games with their kids, carnival style, to get them excited about coming to school.

Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 10-14. In an effort to show our teachers how much we love them, and in conjunction with Valentine's Day, I'm offering an opportunity for parents to send notes of kindness to their child's teacher. Here's a link to a survey you can fill out to send nice notes to teachers. Random Act Link

Students will be sending notes to classmates, friends and siblings, too. It is a great visual of how niceness is contagious and helps positive thoughts grow. See the picture below.

PTO's Valentine Grams were a big hit. Thanks to the committee who put the grams together Thursday afternoon for delivery Friday morning.

Spring Fundraiser runs February 20 - March 6. They are raising money for Field Trips and School Activities.

First Grade is working hard on their Musical. Please plan on joining us at school on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 6:00 to see how hard the First Graders are working.

Spring Semester choir practice will begin on January 14, 2020. Remember that drop off is to the gym door at 7:15 in the morning. Here is a link to the practice dates and times.

The Federal Report Card must be shared with all parents through campus communications by March 4, 2020. If you would like a paper copy, please request one. This is the final required accountability notice to parents for this school year. All required notices can be validated at any time by TEA so electronically save a copy of the communication sent.
