Community Smore August 26th
August 26th

From the Principal:
The first full week of school is done! When students finally get back in this building our staff members come to life and show off why they are the best of the best! We are also reminded that we are part of an incredible LCP community!
On a personal note, I'm reminded that what makes this place so special are the people involved. Some of our plans worked well, some didn't. Some things we anticipated ahead of time, some surprises came. Some moments have already brought a joy and growth, and some moments of hair pulling have already occurred. What moves us forward into greatness is not a system, or a plan, or even a principal. We move forward through the community of staff, students, and parents that make up Central Elementary. People that choose to serve one another, look out for one another, and to create something bigger than any one of us. Thank you for kicking off another great school year, and for the opportunity to serve side by side as we tackle the '22-'23 school year!

This program is offered at no cost, but families will be asked to provide their own instruments. See the flyer for more information about Suzuki Strings!
TTU Football - October 22nd
For more than two decades, each fall, Texas Tech has hosted the annual Take a Kid to the Game Day for a Texas Tech football game. Through this collaborative initiative between TTU Athletics, the Student Government Association, and The Office of Institutional Diversity, thousands of area youth are afforded a free opportunity to spend time on our campus, attend a football game, and be exposed to the infectious Red Raider spirit. The students who participate are generally 2nd-6th graders from area schools, churches, and other organizations.
This year’s Take a Kid to the Game Day will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, which will also be the TTU Homecoming game. Although the time of the game has not yet been announced, I wanted to get you the information so that you have ample time to coordinate your group(s) participation, if interested. Please review the attached information and share it as appropriate. Requests must be received no later than Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Additional details and instructions will be sent to you once your request is confirmed and the time of the game is announced.
