Dear East Hill Families,

Wow! What a busy week at East Hill!

We continued welcoming guest readers for our PARP reading celebration- thank you to everyone that was able to come and read to our students! They loved it!

On Monday our students looked adorable and smiled for the cameras for picture day! On Wednesday we came together and wore orange to support Unity Day in our district. Officer Brand of the Camillus Police Department was at East Hill on Thursday to lead each grade level assembly in our first CODE lessons of the year.

The cooler weather is upon us! Please keep in mind that our students will continue to go outside for recess. If the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above, recess can take place outside. If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (this includes factoring in the WINDCHILL), recess will be indoors. Students should always have appropriate clothing for the weather: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves.

Also, please remember to label your child's cold weather clothing. You will be so glad you did!

Save the date! Wednesday, October 26, 5:00 – 7:30 pm. WGHS P2 Trunk or Treat for K-8 Students. We had a blast last year, and can’t wait to see all of our WGCSD kiddos dressed up again this year. Stop over to the high school for some safe trick-or-treating!

We will celebrate Halloween on October 31, by allowing students to wear costumes during a building parade, followed by classroom parties. Information regarding the details of the day and some guidelines to ensure the safety were sent home this week and can be found here.

We raised almost $7,300!! HUGE thanks for our awesome East Hill community! The funds raised will be used to support all the upcoming PTA events and programs this school year!

The winner of the Jog-A-Thon class ice cream party is…. MRS. YORK’s class!! The party will take place next month!! Great job!!

Please note that the October PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15. Meetings are held at 6:30 pm in the school library. A virtual option can be provided upon request. We hope to see you all there!!
