Way of the Wildcat

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to streamline our arrival and dismissal traffic flow. We have been able to reduce both our drop-off and pick-up times over the last three days. I am confident that we can continue to do so this week as well! Here are some reminders:

• Please note that NO drop-offs or arrivals to the school are allowed prior to 8am.
• Those dropping off in the "U area" need to pull all the way up to the end of the drive, as shown by the stop sign in the first picture. If we are able to do this, we can fill up the "U area" and empty as many cars as possible. This will allow us to keep the traffic flowing.
• Please watch for staff on duty as they need your help keeping the traffic flow moving. If they are waving and motioning you forward, please follow their lead.
• Once dropped off, students will go directly into their classrooms upon arrival.
• The lane to the west of the school is a one-way-only lane (see picture #3) where traffic may come through and exit right onto Fifer St.The 2 buses that use this lane need to get through this space in a timely fashion. Do not block the bus lane if you are on Fifer getting to the "U area"
  
• Create a pick-up plan with your children so that they are aware of what is going on for pick-up after school each day (i.e., walk to "X" destination for pick-up, mom will pick you up in the "U drive", or you will be taking the bus all week). This will help things run smoothly and avoid confusion with the busy nature of pick-up.

Please follow the simple instructions posted in the pictures below so that we can establish and maintain an efficient, safe, and timely arrival and departure system.

Silas Willard has had a very active PTO over the years. Meetings are held monthly in the library. All parents are welcome & encouraged to attend meetings to get involved in such activities as: Book Fairs, Family Nights, Ice Cream Social, and more. Every Silas Willard parent is welcome to attend these meetings and events! Please stay posted for more information!
