EDUCATOR OF THE WEEK
This week's Educator of the Week is Mr. C.J. Patota, a Physical Education Teacher at the DWS and GWS. Mr. Patota has been a warm and welcoming part of the MPSD faculty since he joined the district in 2002.
Mr. Patota spends the vast majority of his time teaching at the DWS, but he also spends time on Mondays at the GWS. Regardless of where he is, his students are learning about all aspects of the PE curriculum, along with lessons on teamwork, accountability and social emotional well being. His classes are full of energy, excitement and laughter. The students love going to PE with Mr. Patota and it's wonderful to see so many past students, who may be at the FBMS or MHS always inviting him up to see them in games or performances.
Principal MacNeil noted that, "Mr. P knows every student and has made a personal connection with them. He connects with our teachers and staff. He plans lessons that keep students engaged and challenged." As you can see, Mr. P is doing everything you'd expect to see in a talented educator.
We congratulate Mr. Patota on being named Educator of the Week and we are lucky to have him on our team. #bettertogether
In addition to the picture below, I've shared a "Shout Out" that a fellow staff member wrote in recognition of all that Mr. Patota does. It sums him up well.

NUMBER CORNER ON DISPLAY AT THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
The students' energy, curiosity and level of communication on all things math was very impressive during the exercise and it was clear to all that the number corner practices are already paying dividends.

MS. BOYD STEPS DOWN FROM THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE
Ms. Boyd has been an active and caring member of the SC throughout her time on the Board and she will be greatly missed. Her number one priority has always been the well being of our students and she was relentless in ensuring they had all the tools and resources needed to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Ms. Boyd was also a staunch supporter of our teachers and staff and worked with the SC team to create needs-based budgets that allowed teaching and learning to always move forward in Marshfield.
Ms. Boyd cared greatly about the Marshfield community as a whole and her efforts were focused on how we could improve not only our schools, but also the Town of Marshfield.
Thank you Ms. Boyd for your service to the students, staff and families of Marshfield.
