Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.
Snapshot News:
What a fantastic event, Year 9 student Gretil had the idea of holding this event to give students the opportunity to share their heritage as well as being able to learn about different nationalities.
Students and staff had the opportunity to watch the performances during lunch, and students performed various dances, music and showcased their displays representing their cultures.
The students who performed were:
Year 8 and 8 students performed a song using their Djembe drums showcasing African culture.
Year 9 students Gretil and Maya performed a K Pop dance.
Year 7 students Harley and Rhys wrote an amazing poem about culture and shared this.
Gurkirat in Year 8 performed Bhangra dancing with help from Mrs Sahota, Miss Kaur and well done to Gurkirat for teaching this.
Saketh in Year 7 read a tranditional Tamika poem.
Our choir sang a song in both English and Polish and Year 7 boys performed an African dance off.
We are so proud to have such talented students here at CTS.
Year 7 Activity Week - Spanish
It was great to see all the Year 7 students having so much fun during the Spanish activities that Mr Cancelo organised for Year 7s last week in the Canopy area, for their Activities Week. Year 7s played different games in a carousel of activities, using only Spanish. There was a maze, that they had to get through, with their eyes covered with a mask, while receiving directions in Spanish; a Word Pong game, in which they got points every time they got the ball in a cup and they said a Spanish word or sentence; and a ball throwing counting game, in which they scored a point every time they caught the ball and said the next number in the sequence in Spanish.
Mrs Bartlett would like to say well done to all the students who took part in these activities with such enthusiasm, it was a pleasure to see them having so much fun in Spanish and to see their confidence grow as they moved through the different games. A big thank you also to Mr Cancelo for organising these fun activities, and for leading all the sessions, and for Mrs Gonzalez-Villamil Lean for supporting behind the scenes.

Every aspect of the piece had been thought about very carefully and this was evident in the final piece – excellent work.

Their positive attitude to learning over the year has been lovely to witness and has meant that both students have continued to progress and develop their musicality.
