Did You Know....
Akron Alumni hosts a banquet reunion every Mother's Day weekend to honor current year graduates, past graduates, and milestone years of past graduates. The banquet is held at the Akron School Field House with a social time, meal, recognition of all in attendance, and a short meeting. Other activities are planned by specific classes to fill the weekend and a golf tournament is held to raise funds for a scholarship given to a current graduate. It is a great time to reconnect with old friends and visit the school to reminisce about old times
All Akron graduates and honor graduates are invited to attend!
Did You Know....
These physicals are a chance for all current 5th through 11th graders to get their physicals done for FREE and prepare them for participation in sports next school year. Each student is given a packet of paperwork to be completed by parents and athletes together at home and then the packets must be returned to the school for the doctor to use to give the physical. **The paperwork must be signed by the parents giving permission prior to the doctor giving the physical.
Packets will be sent home on Monday, May 8.
The dates for the physicals this year are:
Thursday, May 11 beginning at 10:15 am (will begin with 11th graders)
Thursday, May 18 beginning at 9:30 am (will begin with current 8th graders)
Tuesday, May 23 beginning at 8:30 am (remaining students needing a physical)
Spring Music Concert
On Monday, Preschool-4th grade entertained a full house at their Spring Music Concert. The program was directed by elementary music teacher, Mrs. Sue Hellyer. It was a beautiful production!
At the end of the evening, our students thanked “Miss Sue” for her many years of providing our students with the gift of music. She will be dearly missed as she is “hanging up” her music teaching keys at the end of this school year. Thank you “Miss Sue”!
Preschool Celebration of Learning
School Lunch Hero Day
On Thursday, our elementary students celebrated our kitchen staff by making signs and presented the staff with survival kits and ice cream!
We are proud to have such a hardworking and dedicated team that goes above and beyond to provide healthy and nutritious meals for our students and staff.
Thank you Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Bulik and Ms. Iris for everything you do!!
