Student Council 19-20
Last week, students were given the opportunity to run for student council. Interested students had to fill out applications that included their ideas for making our school a better place to learn. They also prepared speeches to present in front of their peers. Each 3rd and 4th grade classroom then held an election to select two student council representatives.
Throughout the year, these representatives will serve as leaders in our school. Some of their responsibilities will include helping with announcements, celebrating students' birthdays, changing the sign in the front of the building, and planning school spirit days. Mrs. Erica VanAlst, our school social worker, will be leading this group as we embark upon this opportunity to develop student leaders within our school.
Congratulations to the following students for being chosen by their classmates as the 2018-19 Student Council Representatives: Chloe Burback, Bo Galbraith, Lydia Ricker, Kosta Kato, Christian Chamberlain, Sage LaVigne, Ashlyn Schomaker, Hannah Dailey, Isaiah Steinert, Claire Streich, Jacob Casey & Cole Romain.
NWEA Testing
Over the course of the next three weeks, all of our students will be participating in NWEA testing. The results of these tests allow us to provide instruction that is tailored to student achievement data. These test results also help us measure your student’s academic growth throughout the school year as they are administered three times each year (Fall, Winter, Spring). If you have any questions or would like more information about the NWEA tests, please feel free to contact Mrs. Gensch.
