Ivan Green Weekly Update
October 20, 2023
Welcome from Mr. Hiley
Happy Friday! This was a great week at school - a nice, normal week. We are fully into routines, gaining independence every day. Our curriculum units are in full swing, too, which means I get the pleasure of observing our teachers teach. The best part of that is that I get to spend time with your children. They impress me every day with their enthusiasm for learning!
I mentioned that this was a "normal" week at Ivan Green. Next week is another spirit week with a sock collection - see the graphic below.
Our PTA needs a few people from our community to step forward for support. The first one is for all of us! We have a donation account at Nickelback can redemption. Please consider saving your bottles and cans to return at Nickelback. When you return them, you can offer that your funds go to the Ivan Green PTA. This is a small way we can collectively make a big impact!
Next, our PTA is searching to fill two leadership positions. We need a coordinator for Box Tops for Education and a yearbook coordinator. Both positions are relatively simple and can be explained further if you are interested. Let me know.
Finally, next Thursday is our second Coffee with the Principal. The big question is, what baked good will Mr. Hiley bring this time?! I'm feeling like pumpkin spice something is in order... If you would like to attend our Coffee with the Principal event and are in need of an interpreter, we can set that up for you. Let us know if you need one.
Sincerely,
Lucas Hiley, Ed.D.
Principal

If your child receives free lunch, you can still add money for snacks. The money will only be used for the "extras."
