Brethren,

Happy New Year to you all. This past year has been a challenge for many of us. COVID-19 has been and continues to be a difficult and serious concern, especially for those with underlying medical issues. I pray that the health of all of you and that of your families remains strong.

Now, onto my other message. First, I apologize for the tardiness of this newsletter. The officers of the MWSA were delayed due to many issues such as work, illness, etc. We were able to meet earlier this week and discuss the path to be taken for the coming years. Those details will be forthcoming in future newsletters.

I, along with the other officers of the MWSA, are very happy to carry on with the excellent work from the past couple of years. We are eager to take the bull by the horns and assist you and your Lodge in every way possible. We will be reviewing our programs from last year along with scheduled training that may have been missed due to COVID-19. We would like to pick up where we left off in those two areas and then generate additional topics for discussion.

Many ideas were presented and we feel our District will come together and shine above others. A couple of examples are: mentoring our new members and place the proper Brother in a position to be that mentor and promoting Masonry without "advertising" it. Both of these topics, along with several others, are very important for our fraternity. We will touch on mentoring this month at our quarterly business meeting, which will be held at Morton Lodge No. 72 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 7:00 PM.

We hope to see many, if not all, at the MWSA meetings, and we welcome your input.

The MWSA has two meetings scheduled during the first quarter of 2021. The first will be our quarterly Business Meeting on Tuesday 26 January 2021 held at Morton Lodge No. 72.

The second meeting of the quarter will be a called Educational Meeting held on Thursday 25 March 2021 at Katy Lodge No. 1439. This meeting will consist of a discussion panel. The topic will be "Looking Beyond the East."

We look forward to seeing everyone at these upcoming meetings!

The Grand Lodge of Texas has just launched a new app! It contains copies of the current law book and monitor, as well as several years worth of Briscoe Workshops. It can also serve as a communication took between Brothers. You may find the links to the app below:

Imperial Chapter, Order of DeMolay was set to work on Saturday 31 August 2019. DeMolay is a wonderful organization for young men from 12-21 years of age. It strives to teach virtues and help young men grow into responsible and committed members of society.

Please work to keep your Lodge's Google Calendar that is linked to the District #108 Google Calendar up-to-date. With everyone's calendar up-to-date, Brothers from other Lodges will be able to plan to attend more events and meetings around our District. This will take some work on the part of whoever controls the individual Lodge's Google Calendar, but it will be well worth the time investment.
