Follett is offering Lightbox for free to students until June 30, 2020. It is a collection of interactive ebooks. This includes 3,800 ebooks that can be read simultaneously (think--can read the same book as your friend)! To access this, click on the link above and follow these directions:

1. in the School field, enter Follett eLearning, McHenry, IL. The Location field is pre-populated with Any Location (do not change this field).
2. Click Go.
3. Click Login on the top right.
4. Enter guest in the Username field and follett in Password field.
5. Press Enter.

Sebco is offering multi-user ebooks for free until June 30, 2020. Click on the image above and then use this information:

After clicking on the "read now" button for a specific book, users may be prompted with how to open the ebook. Select the Mobile Version.

Scholastic is offering Bookflix for free until April 20, 2020. It is an interactive platform that connects fictional stories with nonfiction text. Click on the image above and then use the following information to login:

EPIC is a great resource for read aloud, shared reading and independent reading. It contains picture books, chapter books, fiction and non-fiction! Access is free for all of our students. Contact Mrs. White to receive your EPIC email invite to access it from home.

Newsela is a news resource that produces articles that can be read at different reading levels. We have it set up for grades 3-5. Contact Mrs. White for your student's username and password.

Sora is available in the electronic library but it is also an app that can be downloaded. This app allows students to check out ebooks from the school's digital library. Students will need to login with their username and password. Students who have a library card with Daniel Boone Regional Library can also access the DBRL collection through here.

Britannica is offering free social studies and science articles, photos and videos for grades K-5. Just click on the link above and then use this information for logging in:

Time for Kids has launched a free digital library. Click on the image above and it will take you to a site where you will select your child's grade level and create an account.

Ranger Rick is making all digital editions of their magazines available for free until June, 2020. This includes Ranger Rick, Ranger Rick, Jr., Ranger Rick Cub, Zoobooks, Zoodinos, Zootles, and Zoobies. Click on the image above to take you to the Ranger Rick site. Select the magazine you want to subscribe to and it will prompt you to submit your name and email address for access.

Sesame Street is offering over 110 free eBooks! These are available on all major ebook platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Barnes and Noble Nook, Google Play and Kobo. There is currently no expiration date set on this offer yet. Open eBooks is an online library that offers thousands of award winning titles. It can be accessed online or through a downloaded app. Contact Mrs. White for an individual access code.

Unite for Literacy offers ebooks for our youngest of readers (thinking K-2). Ebooks can be read directly online and kids can click on a speaker button to have each page read to them. Click on the image above to get started!

Junior Library Guild is currently offering their digital online reading platform for free. If you are on a computer, just click on the link above. No sign-in is required. If you want to use their iOS app, a login is required. Click here for the instructions.

This is available through the Electronic Library in the portal. However, if you access it by clicking on the image above instead of through the portal, it will give you access to 4,000 books instead of the 500 available through the portal!

Audible has set up a new site just for kids audiobooks.

Kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids. All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet. Just click on the link above to get started.

Pinna is an app that offers both audiobooks and podcasts exclusively for kids! They are currently offering 60 free days of service. Simply click on the link above. To activate, create an account and use the code PINNA4KIDS in step 2 of the sign up process.

There are a lot of great podcasts for kids that are free! You can listen to these podcasts online or through an apple or android podcast app. Just beware that free podcast apps have the ability to search for podcasts for both kids and grown-ups, so not all content may be appropriate.
