October 23
Important updates from the Health Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been a wonderful start to the school year being able to be in the building daily with your children! Although I don’t get to see them as often, I enjoy hearing their voices outside my window as they take their mask breaks or participate in PE.
Thank you for your continued support with preparing your children for the school day by sending them with proper fitting masks, hand sanitizer, snacks and water bottles. Please remember to fill out the COVID form daily by 8:00 am.
Flu season is around the corner. Contact your child's pediatrician to advise if you have questions or concerns regarding the flu vaccine. Please keep your children home if they are sick; if you are unsure about whether to send them, please call me first to discuss. We are following the guidelines set forth by the NJ Department of Health and the Communicable Disease Services regarding illness and school attendance.
Your district nurses are in contact with the Bernards Township Health Department and our School Physician, Dr. Porter, throughout each week. Check out the HD ‘Weekly Update’ below for the most current information and helpful resources. We have a collaborative relationship to guide us in keeping our community and school safe and healthy.

Announcements & Updates
- Face coverings must be worn.
- Costume masks that completely cover the face will not be permitted.
- Costumes must be aligned with the district dress code (no weapons or attire that disrupts the learning environment).
- Please remember that students do not have lockers to store costume props, and classroom space is limited. We kindly ask that students with elaborate or large costumes (think blow-up suits) do not wear them to school.
- All 8th grade students will attend a virtual presentation by the Morris County Vocational School District during EEE on Friday, 10/30.
- Second reminder for parents: Please do not drive through the small staff parking lot, drop off, and then turn into the pass-through to the circle. This presents a danger to our students and staff.
