We sure enjoyed seeing the sun this week! The importance of outdoor recess time is so important to kids of all ages, so it was great to get out, enjoy the weather and run around.

It's hard to believe, but this Wednesday is our 100th day of School! To celebrate, we are having a spirit day-DRESS LIKE YOU'RE 100 YEARS OLD~we look forward to our dragons transformations!

Hello Dragons!

As we wrap up this week I just wanted to remind our 2nd-5th graders that the library is a wonderful place to go during recess. Besides having an Amazing book selection, there are chromebooks for AR quizzes and great STEM toys to play with. Library is usually open after 8:30 am, during all morning recesses, and for 4th/5th grade lunch recess. Come hang out in a warm, dry, and QUIET place. Remember, good things happen when you read!

Happy January Dragon Families and welcome back to school! We have had a lot of rain lately. Sometimes winter weather can cause mental health to take a dive due to the lack of sunshine, etc. I wanted to remind you of two resources to share with your family or have at the ready. The first is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline that you can call or text. Six months ago the phone number 988 was created as an emergency mental health line for those suffering a crisis. You can call or text the number 988 for yourself or a friend. Please visit the website 988Lifeline.org to find out more or if you prefer to chat online with a helpful resource. Support is FREE, CONFIDENTIAL and available 24/7.

The second resource I would like to share with you is our mental health concierge Care Solace. For more information please see the Care Solace Information Article in this newsletter below.

FREE PRODUCE & WINTER CLOTHING! Visit the Family Resource Center/Clothing Closet on the Schnell campus on Wednesday, January 25 from 12-4pm. Community HUBS will also be there from 2:30-4pm offering FREE DIAPERS! This event is for families whose children attend Schnell, Markham and Sierra schools.

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM: Just a reminder that after school enrichment classes have began! Guitar Club on Tuesdays, Math Games on Wednesdays, and Drama Club on Thursdays.
