eLearning to Continue Through End of School Year
Frisco ISD Awaits Additional Guidance from TEA
April 17, 2020 – Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced today that schools across the state would remain closed for the foreseeable future, including the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.
Frisco ISD will continue to deliver learning online through May 28, the last scheduled day of the school year.
FISD will communicate in the coming weeks how parents and students will be able to safely collect personal belongings from the campus and return school-issued supplies, including technology.
The District is awaiting guidance from Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath on how best to conduct graduation ceremonies. Information regarding the upcoming commencement ceremonies will be sent to seniors.
Frisco ISD is committed to helping parents and students through eLearning and appreciates their patience and understanding during this trying time.

What is eLearning?
The FISD eLearning plan is focused on facilitating an asynchronous eLearning model. Asynchronous learning allows groups of students to study independently at different times and locations from each other, without real-time communication taking place. Asynchronous eLearning is student-centered and provides more flexibility. The idea is that students can learn on any device, anywhere, anytime and on any browser.

Required Immunizations
6th Grade Parents (Incoming 7th Grade)
There were changes made to the Texas State Immunization Law several years ago which will affect your student for 7th Grade. Those changes include the following requirements:
Tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis containing vaccine (Tdap): All students entering 7th grade will be required to have one dose of Tdap vaccine if it has been five years since their last dose of a tetanus containing vaccine.
Meningococcal Vaccine: All students entering 7th grade will be required to have one dose of meningococcal vaccine.
Many of our students have received these shots over the past few years, but documentation may not have been received at school. Please check your records to see if you have these immunizations or check with your doctor’s office to see if these vaccines have already been received so that you may get a copy. If you have a copy or are able to get one, you can email it to me at the email address below as I do not have access to fax at this time.
If your child has not received the above immunizations, then an appointment will need to be scheduled in the future. Please do NOT make an appointment to go out and get these immunizations at this time as what is most important is to keep your families safe during this public health emergency. Please just keep in mind that an up-to-date shot record will be required for your child to pick up their schedule in August. I wanted to reach out at this time as if you have these immunizations, then this will be one less thing to have to consider prior to school starting in the fall.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. Please continue to stay safe and healthy!
Two options for low cost immunizations are listed below:
Trinity Pharmacy $15.00 each M-F 8 am-7pm
