Scott Tech Times
What a great start to the year here at Scott Tech! This 1st quarter is flying by in spite of the challenges that COVID-19 has brought upon all of our doorsteps. Our students and staff have done a phenomenal job of implementing and adhering to guidelines so that the interruptions to learning have been minimal to what they could have been. It has been a tremendous shot of enthusiasm to have students and staff back in our building. Without our students, our roles as staff become much more like a job! We are thrilled to have our students back and look forward to serving them and our sending communities this year!
JROTC Raider Team
The JROTC Raider Team has been hitting the road and competing. Check them out below running the Gauntlet at Fredricktown. Congratulations Aubrey Boatwright from Aurora, for winning Ultimate Raider!
New Machine in the Precision Machining Shop!
Students will now be able to advance their knowledge further in CNC Programming. Having the Haase CNC Lathe TL2 machine is a major asset for our students to know how to operate when seeking a career in the machining field. This machine will also be a great help when preparing for SkillsUSA Contests.
DECA Update
DECA students attended a Marketing Seminar at Silver Dollar City on October 1st. In this seminar, they learned the history of the park, how they started marketing, and how their marketing has changed over the years. They also learned the pros and cons of social media marketing and how to create visual merchandising and creative elements that create an inviting environment for their patrons to keep them returning season after season.
SkillsUSA Update
Scott Tech is going to be well represented by Nolan Black from Aurora and McKayla Lombard from Wheaton. Nolan was elected to represent the Southwest SkillsUSA District as the Parliamentarian and McKayla was elected Secretary. We are confident they will fill their roles well.
