Your classes have won an Ice Cream Party and $50 Scholastic dollars for your classroom!
It’s not too late though! Members are the main source of collaboration and revenue for the PTA. As parents, not only are we the key drivers of collaboration between the parent community and the team at Fields Road Elementary, but our dues and donations are the only way we can afford to pay for all the great PTA events, activities, and programs throughout the school year. As a reminder, you do need to sign up for the PTA each year.
Sign up here: https://fieldsroadpta.memberhub.com/store/items/709280
***If you would like to sign up and pay by cash or check, please reach out to me and I can get you a paper form to complete.
I just want to thank everyone who has already signed up as well as the wonderful volunteers who have already stepped up this year to help bring Fields Road some great events.

Book Fair Tip: Make Shopping a Family Affair
Dear Families,
The PTA-sponsored Scholastic Book Fair is open this week! Come by during fair hours (Mon-Thu 8:30a-4:00p, Fri 8:30a-12:30p) to experience #BOOKJOY for yourself and see how the fair helps our school.
Inventory changes throughout the week, and popular titles do sell out! Shopping as a family can help you to ensure any back-up choices are a good fit for your student(s) and to limit unwanted impulse buys. We encourage all shoppers to bring their own, reusable bag.
And remember—Family Night is TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 6pm-8pm. Come out for door prizes, games, light refreshments, and of course, great books!
Any questions? Contact PTA Book Fair Co-chair, Karin Lee at klee.fres@gmail.com.
See you at the fair!

Get Ready for National Bus Safety Week, Oct. 16–21
Join us next week Oct. 16–21 as we emphasize the importance of school bus safety and say thank you to all who transport Montgomery County Public Schools students during National Bus Safety Week.
Our nearly 2,000 bus attendants and bus operators are tasked with an enormous responsibility to safely transport our students to and from more than 230 schools, field trips and school-sponsored activities.
It is important to remind our students, staff, and families about school bus safety, including expectations for students when they are entering and exiting, as well as riding the school bus. This is also an opportunity to highlight the Maryland school bus laws for motorists to ensure they are aware of when and how to stop for school buses to ensure the safety of our students.
Information about COVID-19, Influenza and RSV Vaccines
Get ready for cough and cold season! The new COVID-19 vaccine approved on Sept. 11 is now available at local retail pharmacies and some doctors’ offices. You can find an appointment for COVID-19 and influenza vaccines through https://www.vaccines.gov/. Certain individuals, including infants and older adults, may also qualify for the RSV vaccine and should consult their health care provider.
