Pick Up & Drop Off Reminders
- If you are picking up you child by car, you MUST remain in your vehicle and our supervisors will bring your child to you. It becomes an extreme safety hazard when parents get out of their cars and walk through the parking lot to get their child. If you wish to physically get your child, have them meet you at the walker door for pickup instead of the car line.
- Please do not park in the fire lane on Burning Bush just north of Kensington. At arrival and dismissal when there are cars in the fire lanes, it is difficult for the busses to get through and creates a safety hazard as I have seen children run into the street to get into their cars. Please park after the fire lane or on a side street instead. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
- Morning supervision ends at 9:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, and at 9:50 on Thursdays. If you come after 9:00 or 9:50, you will need to park and walk your child into the main office to sign them in. They will be marked tardy.
Snow at Recess
Here are some things to please keep in mind:
- Gear: Please make sure that you send your student with hats, gloves, boots, snow pants and winter coat that they can get on and off by themselves.
- Label: Please label all clothing with your child's first and last name.
- Independence: Please help your student practice getting their gear on at home. Talk through with him/her the order to put things on (ex: gloves go on last).
- Regular Shoes: Students need to have a pair of shoes to change into to wear at school for the day if they wear boots to school. They will need gym shoes for P.E.
- Recess: Students need to have proper attire (snow pants, boots, hat, gloves) in order to play in the snow during recess times.

PT Specials Update
ART
In November, students will experiment with different materials and tools to create organic and geometric shapes. In every class, students will learn vocabulary words to describe art such as texture, portrait, movement, outline, pattern, background, and space. If you have any questions, email me at: lpennington@rtsd26.org. - Lauren Pennington
LIBRARY
Please continue to keep library books in great shape! Make sure your student returns their book on Wednesdays!
MUSIC
This month students will begin to read and play rhythm on instruments. We’ll also be exploring how our bodies can move to reflect the tempo & melodic movement of the music we’re listening to.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions: mthompson@rtsd26.org Meghan Thompson
PE
Now that snow boot season is here, please make sure to send GYM SHOES with your child every day. We have had so much fun in PE this month. We have been practicing underhand and overhand throwing-the hardest part is remembering to step with our opposite foot. We have played some great games to practice our throwing and sportsmanship skills-ask your child about the Oscar’s Trashcan and Monster Ball games!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at evossmiller@rtsd26.org Beth Miller
STEM
Students are learning the design process when building with new materials. Many students are creating weather instruments with Rig-a-ma-jigs, Make-do’s and other supplies. Ask your students about all of the building we have been doing and what they have created.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me at jwagner@rtsd26.org.
