Freshman Focus @ JCHS
August 16th-20th
Opening Week
We are very excited to have students back in the building at Johnson Central High School. During opening week, our teachers go above and beyond to learn information about their students. In Integrated Science students completed an activity called "Do you know your neighbor?" This gives students the opportunity to move around the class and find out information about their new classmates. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for our teachers to learn more about their students. This is one of the first opportunities for teachers to build relationships with EACH and EVERY student in their class.

PICTURE DAY FOR ALL UNDERCLASSMEN WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18TH
This Week @ JCHS
The second week of school brings lots of excitement for all freshmen. At this point students should know where their classes are located, the names of new friends in their classes and most importantly how to get to the cafeteria and choose between our many delicious options for lunch.
This week we will be conducting fire drills on separate days. Please do not be alarmed. This is standard procedure to help all students become aware of our safety plans and nearest exits.
Freshmen will also be completing another I-Time activity in their Social Studies class. I-Times are opportunities for students and teachers to work together to get to know and value each and every person's strength. I-Times will be completed weekly on a rotational basis in Social Studies, English and Science.
