Greetings Sward Families:
Our third, fourth, and fifth graders were provided with an opportunity to take part in an optional lunchtime book group. Here's how it works... The students got together with some classmates and selected a book they've been wanting to read. They are all in the process of reading their book now.
We are looking for some parents that might like to facilitate a book group. If you are interested, our third graders will be meeting on Monday, May 16 from 11-11:50, our fourth graders will be meeting on Tuesday, May 17 from 11-11:50, and our fifth graders will be meeting on Wednesday, May 18 from 11-11:50. If you are interested in participating, please reply to me at this email and let me know which day you are available and I will let you know which books are still available for that day. I will get a copy of the book to you and ask that you read it prior to your book group. On the day of the book group, the students in that group will bring their book and their lunch and meet you (and the other groups) in the library. You and the students will talk about the book as they eat their lunch. I will have supplied you with a list of the students joining you as well as some possible discussion questions for your book. It is super fun... the students and their adult always have a great time and fabulous book talks!
It is simply a one time commitment and at the conclusion, the books are left on the table and the students go back to class.
We are so excited that we are finally able to provide the students with this opportunity again. We've not done this since prior to Covid.
