Parent Information
School Closings/Delays:
In the event of inclement weather, WCS will notify parents automatically through Parent Square (email and text).
If you have opted out of notifications, the best sources of information are the WCS website (www.warsawschools.org), Warsaw Schools Twitter account (@dahoffert), and WCS Facebook page (Warsaw Community Schools).
**Please DO NOT call the school for this information, as these decisions are not made on an individual school basis. If school is closed for the day, or dismissed early, all school-related activities are canceled, unless otherwise notified.”
**Please make sure to listen for “Warsaw Community Schools” being announced over the radio. The radio stations WILL NOT announce Leesburg Elementary.
** The local news and weather reports are also good sources of information.
Birthdays:
1. Birthday treats are not allowed during the school day. Please do not send treats in. Treats will be sent back home.
2. We promise we will make your child feel special on their special day. Their name will be announced over the PA during morning announcements, and they will be allowed to select a small treat out of the treasure box.
3. Warsaw Community Elementary Schools CANNOT accept deliveries from companies, parents, guardians, etc. of items (balloons, flowers, etc) for students.
Parent Visitation:
“Parents are encouraged to visit classes during the school year. We ask your cooperation in arranging visits so that they do not conflict with administration of standardized tests, special activities, health checkups, etc.
FOR THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF ALL CHILDREN, PARENTS AND VISITORS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED AND APPROVED CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK TO INTERACT WITH STUDENT WHILE VISITING THE SCHOOL OR ATTENDING SCHOOL SPONSORED ACTIVITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FIELD TRIPS, CLASS PARTIES, FIELD DAY, RECESS AND LUNCH.” -
Please refer to Warsaw Community Schools School Board Policy #9150.
--You may pick up a criminal background check from the Leesburg Main Office. Please contact Charity Amor, building secretary, at 453-4121 if you have questions.
If you have any criminal history, please make sure you are honest on the form and explain your situation on a separate piece of paper or in an email to the principal.
