Message from Mrs. Harvey
We know that there is a lot going on in our students lives that we don't see. If you ever feel like we need a heads up about things that might be hard for your kiddo, you can always let us know and we respect your privacy.
I have a very good friend who is going through a lot with an ill parent. I asked her if she had let the teacher know so they can better support her son and she told me she never thought of telling the teacher. It just wasn't on her radar because she is dealing with it too.
I share this just to tell you that we are here to help and if you share something with us it will remain confidential This does not have to mean sharing every detail, just an email or a call that your child is going through some tough times is enough for us to know there may be a need for a little more support and understanding. We are also here for you as well so let us know if we can help.
And as always, Ms. Jem,our school Counselor ,and Ms. Leah, our trauma specialist, are here to help as well.

AKStar & Alaska Science Assessment April 3rd-7th
All 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders take the AKStar & All 5th Graders take the Alaska Science Assessment
We know testing can sound very scary and our goal is to make sure it is as positive as it can be. We will have some prizes for working so hard, pep talks to keep a positive attitude, special snacks, and encouragement all around!
You are also part of this plan! Encourage your student to do their best. Talk about a time when you struggled to solve a problem and how you handled that. We talk a lot about having a growth mindset and perseverance. During testing week make sure your child gets a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. It is also very important for kids to be here on time. During testing proctors (usually classroom teachers) have scripted directions each child must hear and follow along with in order to be able to start their test.

School Meal Program
This is just a reminder that we have moved to a "grab and go" breakfast option rather than the hot breakfast we had been doing. It gives our kids a little something to start their day. Kids are given the option to eat breakfast as they arrive each morning. Please check this menu to see what our daily offerings are. Menu
