Special Assembly September 27
Child Lures is an effective curriculum that teaches youth about personal safety, and is presented by our school social worker. It teaches youth that the vast majority of people are loving and caring and committed to the safety of all children. The second message is that there are some people, a small but active group, that try to lure young people into dangerous and abusive situations by using lures, but by teaching the various lures and prevention strategies, students can learn how to think first and stay safe.
Some of the information presented is sensitive. Parents are welcome to attend the assembly with their student, or even opt out. We hope you will join us!
The session is in your Class Connect Session list.
Benchmark 1 is Almost Here!
Do your best to show off what you have learned! These tests are will be awarded a grade in your courses, although we will adjust the score because we know that you haven't been taught all of the material yet.
Remember that these tests are required. (Students who started on September 26 are exempt from benchmark 1.)
Where Do I Mark Attendance?
How many hours am I expected to attend each day?
Students are expected to attend a total of 420 min. (7 hours) per day. An hour of that time should be spent on lunch and breaks. The time spent in each course will vary daily. You may spend more time in one course than another. For example, writing an English paper might take more time than completing a math quiz.
What should be included in my logged attendance?
Learning coaches will input time spent in Class Connects, USA Test Prep, courses, and any work done offline.
Learning coaches will input attendance for lunch time in the Online Learning course.
When do I mark attendance in USATP?
Learning coaches will input attendance for any time spent by your student working within USATP in this category.
