FLCN News Network helped ring in Christmas cheer at the high school with their 12 Days of Christmas production. Following is a link to the holiday segment for your enjoyment.

12 Days of Christmas BHS Style!

• Tuesday, December 22nd
• BHS Varsity Boys & Girls vs. Fatima
• Games start at 6:00 p.m.
• Senior Girls will be recognized at 5:30 p.m.
• Senior Boys will be recognized immediately following the girls game.

• Dec. 18, Friday - 1st, 2nd, and 7th-hour finals
  
• Dec. 21, Monday - 3rd, 4th, and 6th-hour finals
  
• Dec. 22, Tuesday - 5th-hour final
  
• Dec. 22, Tuesday - Celebration day! Celebrate our successes!

December 2020 Finals Schedule

On Monday, December 21st, please be Blair Oaks High School before the 9:28 a.m. bell. This will be the time when you will take your 4th period final.

As an incentive for doing their best during semester exams, students will enjoy a reward period on Tuesday, December 22nd, after the 5th hour final is finished. This is a regular school day; any absences will be unexcused.

We invite you to support our American Red Cross Blood Drive.

High Schools that host blood drives are awarded points for each unit donated. The points accumulate over the year. At the end of the year, the American Red Cross donates scholarships to our school. Administrators may award scholarships to a student who demonstrates leadership and volunteerism as well as need. Scholarships in the amount of $250 are awarded depending on the total number of blood drives per academic year and the total units donated.

Sports Dead Weeks for 2021 have been set. The dates are:

• July 3-11, 2021
  July's dead week for sports means that the campus and weight room are completely closed to all activities.
• August 2-8, 2021
  This is MSHSAA's dead week for fall sports.
  

These dead periods provide rest for students-athletes and coaches. Enjoy your time together as a family!

COVID Testing/Contact Tracing

During Christmas break, if your child is tested for COVID or comes into contact with someone who tests positive, we ask that you email your building administrator. We will do our best to complete contact tracing when necessary.

On December 2, 2020, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance to reduce the length of quarantine from 14 to 10 days for those individuals considered a close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The following day, the Cole County Health Department communicated their support of the new CDC guidelines. Most, if not all, of the schools (private and parochial) in Cole County have adopted the revised guidance. We will utilize the new guidance. Students and staff will now quarantine 10 days without testing if symptom-free. As we move forward, we will continue to monitor and adapt accordingly.
