COVID Health & Safety Protocols for Fall
The WA State Department of Health (DOH) released Updated K-12 Health and Safety Guidelines on August 5th outlining requirements for school districts to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19. A summary of required guidelines is provided below:
All employees and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.
Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 are required to stay home, should get tested, and follow the return to school guidance.
Contact your school to determine next steps in returning to school. WVSD can provide at-home testing supplies if needed and will continue testing onsite.
Any individual who tests positive for COVID-19 is required to isolate 5-10 days at home depending on the situation. Day 0 is the first day of symptoms OR the day of the positive test if there are no symptoms.
Individuals may return on day 6-10 with symptom improvement and a negative test performed by WVSD.
Individuals return on day 11 if they prefer not to test OR do not test negative in the 6-10 day window.
Staff and students will be notified by email or Bright Arrow message if they have been exposed to COVID-19 when there are cases and/or outbreaks in groups. Groups included classes, teams, extracurricular activities, or the school.
WVSD is required to report positive cases and outbreaks to Spokane Regional Health District.
Teaching Staff Additions and Changes
Stacia Kline (4th SPICE) is now Mrs.Willard, and Randi Goodnight (1st Grade) is now Mrs. Grebe. Congratulations to both of them!
Courtney Orr will also be teaching 3rd grade this year instead of a combo class.
Two new teachers that we have in the building are super excited to get going!
We have added Brandi Edwards. She is coming to Seth from Ness and she will be teaching 4th grade. We have also added Kenzie Kilmer. She was a long term substitute in our building last year, and now, she is teaching 5th grade SPICE. We are excited to have them both!
Your student's classroom teacher will be made visible in Skyward TOMORROW. We are so ready to have students in the building. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend.
