A Message from Dr. Hicks
Hello Cougar Nation,
We are incredibly proud of our students and staff as they have received many celebrations and achievements. Their hard work, dedication, and unyielding pursuit of excellence led to many accolades, both locally and in the State. Most recently this past Saturday, our Jarrell Middle School Soccer Team won their final game, claiming the title of District Champions! They played their hearts out this season and did a superb job representing Jarrell ISD.
Last night we held our Athletic Banquet to celebrate our junior and varsity athletic teams. It was a beautiful ceremony. We watched these young men and women be honored for their hard work. Athletic Director Coach Mary Murr summed up their accomplishments best, “The most dedicated athletes I come across never talk about how dedicated they are, how hard they work, or what they sacrifice. They show up every single day and give their very best. It’s not a hardship, not a chore. They want to do whatever it takes, and then some succeed”.
In addition to celebrating athletics, we also had a district-wide parade honoring all our high school students who made it to state competitions this school year. The students packed a school bus and drove by our elementary and middle schools and the central office. It was a joyous event and heartwarming to see our young students cheer for them. They are terrific role models. We put photos from the event and their names below.
We named our Top 10 Students from the Class of 2022. See their photo and names below. We’re proud to see their hard work pay off, and we know they, along with their classmates, will have a tremendous impact on our world.
Finally, this week will celebrate our teachers and staff of the year and retirees with a special banquet. Five of our staff members are retiring. Combined, they have 73 years of experience working in Jarrell ISD. We’re so grateful for them and their many contributions.
Have a great week.
Cougar proud,
Dr. Toni Hicks
