Colts Connection - Parent Edition
April 4th, 2022
Parent Presentation Hosted by School Council
Self Regulation: Childhood Emotions Out of Control. How do I help my Child?
School Council is hosting a parent presentation open to all parents/guardians. The event is free!
Presenter - Tammy Auten-Dye - Registered Psychologist
Self-regulation, the ability to regulate and manage our moods. Our society is dysregulated. Our moods are shifting with the news, we are up and down with politics, we are in and out of school home and online. Every member of a household is under some level of stress. All members of households are interconnected. If a parent is dysregulated, so too may be his/her children. Many mental health concerns also start with issues with Self-Regulation, including ADHD and anxiety disorders. This presentation will create awareness around self-regulation, how to support yourself and your children in better regulating their emotions and knowing what to do when there is an outburst, supporting your child so that the next outburst goes smoother.

The next PES School Council meeting is on Monday, April 25th at 6:30 pm. All meetings are now in-person. We are fortunate enough to have a very active School Council and they do an amazing job at supporting our school in many different ways. Joining School Council is a great way to be involved in the school as well as another way to support our school community. If you have any questions about School Council, please contact the School Council Chair - Angie Taylor.
Cilantro and Chive Ice Cream Sandwich Fundraiser
Cilantro and Chive selected our school to be a part of their ice cream sandwich fundraiser. They created an amazing Mini Egg ice cream sandwich that is available at their Lacombe restaurant. $1 from each ice cream sandwich sold will be donated to our school to replace and update our recess equipment (soccer balls, footballs, frisbees, etc).
Cilantro and Chive is also doing a scaled down version of the ice cream sandwich for us to sell at school. These sandwiches are $4 each, can be ordered online through your Parent Portal (deadline to order is today, April 4th). All proceeds from the school sale also go towards updating and replacing our recess equipment. We are extremely excited and grateful to be able to partner up with Cilantro and Chive to help raise funds for our school.
