August 28th, 2023
Be curious, not judgmental.
We have had an excellent start to the 2023-2024 school year at Charles Town Middle. It was wonderful welcoming all the new and familiar faces into the building during a busy yet productive first week.
During these first two weeks, our staff focuses on teaching procedures, estabilishing classroom/school expectations, and building relationships. At CTMS, we have high expectations for our all of our students. Our hope is that our high expectations rub off and turn into each student's own expectation for themselves. We expect each Panther student to attend school every day with a willingness to learn, be respectful, and hold themselves accountable for their actions. Our teachers and staff care deeply about student success and are here to help each of them find success along the way.
We know that positive relationships are the key to student success, so we spend a significant amount of time at the beginning of school and each semester reinforcing those relationships. By allowing teachers the ability to get to know their students' interests, hobbies, and how they learn, we are allowing teachers to personalize their instruction to best meet their students needs.
Please remember that CTMS along with Jefferson County Schools believes that attendance all day, every day matters. We miss our students when they are not in school. If you know your child is going to be absent, please communicate that with your student's teachers via CANVAS. You may also submit any absence notes electronically, using this link Submit An Absence (jotform.com) or utilizing the link of the school website.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to school administration with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to a great year with your student at CTMS.
