From the Principal... Matt Clark

Good afternoon parents and guardians. Today we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Judge Hull and Judge Parga to Thompson Middle School to meet with students at all grade levels to share their presentation on the Worries of the World Wide Web. This was a very interactive presentation and the students at all levels were engaged with the content and discussion. Please take a moment over the weekend to speak with your child about the presentation.

In addition, last night Judge Hull and Judge Parga spoke with TMS parents and guardians about the presentation that was shared with students today. Here is a link to their presentation. Please be advised that this information can not be reproduced or shared for any purpose other than to facilitate a conversation with your child.

In addition, last night the District 303 Executive Director of Technology, Matt Smith, also presented to TMS parents. His presentation focused more on tools and resources to help parents monitor what their kids are doing online and on social media. Here is his presentation.

SCN Athletic Boosters Movie Night

The St. Charles North Athletic Booster Club is hosting our first Holiday Movie Night Event at the historic Arcada Theater in downtown St. Charles! Tuesday, December 19 at 6:30 (doors open at 6 pm) Pack the theater with holiday cheer, Christmas PJ's, family and friends while watching the movie ELF . Tickets are $10 for all ages and can be pre-purchased or at the door. Concessions will be open with drinks, candy, chips, hotdogs, jumbo pretzels, popcorn, pizza, meatball sandwiches and toasted ravioli. All proceeds will benefit the athletes at St. Charles North High School LET’S GET OUR HOLIDAY CHEER ON!

What is Peer Leadership?

The Peer Leadership Program for Incoming St. Charles East Freshmen

Dear Parents of 8th Graders Attending East,

Peer Leadership is an extracurricular program that matches selected incoming freshmen with juniors and seniors who make the transition into high school fun and easy and mentor them throughout the year. Because this program meets during the school day, it has to be put into a student’s schedule when registering for next year’s classes. Although we would like to be able to offer this to all interested incoming freshmen, our numbers are limited by available classroom space and our budget. Therefore, in order to start the selection process, interested students should apply using the application found here:

If your child is interested in the program, please fill out the application and e-mail it to Kelly Pursel, the Peer Leadership Coordinator (Kelly.Pursel@d303.org). Completed applications must be received no later than Monday, January 22nd, 2024. For more information about Peer Leadership, please attend Future Saints Night in January.

El Programa de Liderazgo de Compañeros para los estudiantes de primer año que llegan a St. Charles East

Queridos padres de los alumnos de octavo grado que asisten a East,

El Programa de Liderazgo de Compañeros para estudiantes es un programa extracurricular que empareja a estudiantes de primer año seleccionados con estudiantes de tercer y cuarto año que hacen la transición a la escuela preparatoria de manera fácil y divertida y los asesoran durante todo el año. Debido a que este programa se reúne durante el día escolar, tiene que ser puesto en el horario del estudiante cuando se registre para las clases del próximo año. Aunque nos gustaría poder ofrecer esto a todos los estudiantes de primer año interesados, nuestro número está limitado por el espacio disponible en el aula y nuestro presupuesto.
