Dear Village Families,

We Love Our Village Teachers!

Teachers are working harder than they ever have this year. This came from a district parent:

Dear Teacher,

Words can not adequately express how grateful I am for you.

I know this is hard. I know it is exhausting.

On all of us!

It is not what anyone wants.

I see the toll it is taking on all. Mentally, physically at every level, age, grade.

I thank you for showing up.

I thank you for your enthusiasm.

I thank you for your dedication.

I thank you for your organization.

I thank you for your engagement.

Not all teachers are equal.

And I am so grateful that you are our teacher.

You are one of a kind!

With heaps of respect and gratitude

Please take a moment to thank your child’s teacher! Teachers are working hard to make positive connections with your children and to keep them learning and growing!

POP Packets

Included in the pick-up materials this week is a large envelope for each student that includes work packets in case of a PSPS event. This is your POP (Power Outage Packet) in case we need it due to power outages. Please do not open this packet unless directed by your teacher!

Walk and Roll to Anywhere:

October is Walk and Roll to School ANYWHERE Month. The purpose of this special month is to promote healthy habits, to develop a sense of community, and to help the environment. We may not be walking or rolling to school right now, but physical activity is even more essential to health during these challenging times!

This October, we challenge you and your students to build knowledge about bicycle and/or pedestrian safety, the environment, and your community while Walking & Rolling to ANYWHERE in celebration of International Walk & Roll to School Month! You can find more information on how to participate in the links below!

Thank you to those who joined Ms. Candace and I for Coffee with the Principal. Ms. Candace shared a presentation about how to support your children and yourselves during distance learning. You can view her presentation here in the links below!

Date to Remember:

  • Friday, October 9: Teacher Work Day, Non Student Day

Stay safe and hug your children for us!

Have a great weekend, Village Eagles!

Looking to connect with other Village families?

Click here to join the new Village Parents Club Slack Group

The Slack group is free, private, and easy to access from a phone or computer. It works a lot like a closed Facebook group, but it doesn't require a Facebook account and the conversations are really easy to search and organize.

In the Slack group you can connect with parents who have kids in the same grade, share ideas and support with other Village families, and feel less alone in this weird and wild time we are all parenting through.

Feel free to contact parentsclub@villageparents.org if you have questions or need help getting setup on Slack.
