News from the Principal- August 18th
Dear Families,
Welcome Back!!! This was a magical week. We loved having all students and staff back in the building. I can already tell that the 2023-2024 school year is going to be the best!
Just a reminder that for your student to be issued an iPad this school year the mandatory iPad insurance fee must be paid. This fee is $20, $3 for reduced lunch, and free for students that qualify for fees waived. You can pay this fee online at https://payments.efundsforschools.com/v3/districts/56368 or in the office. If you have any questions please call the office.

Soaring Student of the Week!
Students at AES have the opportunity to earn recognition for positive behavior during the week. When staff members see great choices being made, students can receive a SOAR slip with specific praise. Every Friday, the names of every student who earned a SOAR slip are read during the morning opening. All student slips are entered into a drawing, and one student is randomly chosen to receive donuts for his or her class.
This week's Soaring Student was Atticus Wilson from Mrs. Rawls 4th grade class.
Thank you, Daylight Donuts, for partnering with us in this special recognition for our students!
Morning Drop-Off Procedures
If you are parking to walk your student to the door we ask that parents park in the area the is designated for park and pick-up, and stay with your student until the doors open at 7:45 am. If you need to enter the school please use the main front entrances.
Doors open at 7:45 am and school starts at 8:20 am.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Park and Pick-Up:
If you prefer to park and pick up your child, please pull into a spot in the back of the building on the primary side. Parents/guardians will exit their vehicles and pick up their students from the back primary doors.
Car Loop:
If you wish to stay in your vehicle and have your child brought out to you, you will want to utilize the Car Loop dismissal option. Join the line along the back edge of the parking lot that snakes to the curb at the back of the building. A staff member will ask for your student's name, or please have a card made with your student(s) name. We use walkie talkies to have the student come out of the building. Staff members are outside supervising this process, and we ask that you pull all the way down to pick up your child. You will notice a red line painted on the sidewalk; students are asked to stay inside this line for their safety when traveling down the sidewalk
